Following breakfast, we once again journey to the briefing area, this time for an enthralling golden monkey trekking experience. Golden monkeys, native to the Virunga regions of Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo, exhibit a livelier nature than gorillas. To capture exceptional photos, you’ll trail them as they actively forage for food, particularly relishing bamboo shoots and occasionally venturing into nearby gardens for potatoes. It’s worth noting that their habitat is generally more accessible than some gorilla families, making the trek more manageable.
Just like the previous day, you’ll receive a briefing at the park headquarters before embarking on your golden monkey trek. While you can bring a packed lunch, the trek typically lasts a short duration, allowing you to return to the lodge for lunch.
Following this, your driver guide will transfer you to Kigali, providing you with the option to return to your hotel or catch your flight home.
